Recommendations – What Others Are Saying

“Sarah Brodie is one of most promising, talented young journalists to come through the CBS News internship program in many years. A talented reporter and anchor, aggressive booker and exceptional researcher, Brodie will no doubt be among the top ranks of journalists in the future. It will be a pleasure watching her succeed and remarking that “I knew her when…”
Jon Carras, Producer/CBS News, New York

Breaking news phone interview with KBOI radio:

“Big thanks for Sarah Brodie this morning. She provided reports for us over the phone describing to listeners just how thick the fog was east of Boise this morning. The reports were very detailed and Sarah’s words painted a perfect picture for our listeners.”
Ken Weaver, News Director, KBOI Radio

Sensitivity to subject matter:

“I wanted to pass along my thanks to your reporter there at KBOI-TV2, Sarah Brodie, who came out to report on the death of one of our teachers. Ms. Brodie was very kind, patient and understanding, and because of that and her professionalism, I agreed to appear in her interview to give the WICAP statement regarding the loss of Elizabeth ‘Liz” Baune. It was the only statement given on air on behalf of WICAP and it was only because of Ms. Brodie’s sensitivity to the subject matter that I agreed.”
Rob Christensen, Executive Director, WICAP

“Working with Sarah in a newsroom setting is a breath of fresh air. She possesses an eagerness to learn and the motivation to succeed. Sarah completely understands the mechanics and hard work it takes to make air, but also how important it is to deliver a professional presentation. Sarah gets along with others easily, receives and applies constructive criticism well and is committed to her daily work. The stories she puts together display her passion for journalism and the risks she takes show her readiness to grow.”
Alana Brophy, KBOI-TV Morning Anchor

“Sarah Brodie is flat out-one of the finest interns we’ve had in my 24 years at KATU-TV. Hundreds of interns have come and gone over the years, but Sarah definitely stands out in my mind, as well as the minds of many employees here at KATU. Sarah brings bright, fun personality to the newsroom. She’s willing to step in whenever needed.”
Steve Dunn, KATU-TV Evening News Anchor

“Sarah has been a bright, motivated, and enthusiastic learner with a passionate work ethic. She takes feedback seriously and is motivated by a genuine curiosity about the world around her. Her keen mind and close attention to detail made her a stand-out student with a promising future.”
Daniel HoSang, Assistant Professor of Political Science and Ethnic Studies, University of Oregon

“In my role as Communication and Education Director of Ecology and other state agencies, I have had the pleasure of working with many college interns. Few, if any, impressed me more than Sarah.”
David Workman, Director of Communications and Education for Washington State Department of Ecology
